Step 1
Your finishing place becomes an Event Score
First place scores 0, second place scores 1, third place scores 2, and so on. Each event has a score cap, so the number cannot keep rising forever.
A team finishes 12th, so its Event Score is 11. At an event with a cap of 36, every eligible finish from 37th onwards scores 36.
At new events, a team that does not attend scores one more than the cap. Older published events may use a different missed-event score; those results stay as published unless UKTC confirms a correction.
Step 2
Add the Event Scores for the season
Season Score is the total of a team's eligible Event Scores. The season page shows which events count. The lowest Season Score leads the rankings.
Four Event Scores of 3, 8, 11 and 17 produce a Season Score of 39.
If the same team appears more than once in an event export, it is never counted twice. Only its best eligible Event Score is used; if those scores match, the entry with the higher VP is used.
Step 3
Total VP separates teams on the same score
Total VP adds together a team's eligible VP from every event that counts. When two Season Scores match, the team with the higher Total VP ranks above the other.
Two teams both score 39. A team with 1,420 Total VP ranks above a team with 1,395 Total VP.
If Season Score and Total VP are both identical, the teams are marked as an exact tie. Their previous published order is kept so the table remains stable; brand-new tied teams use their permanent team reference. The exact-tie label stays visible.
Team names and aliases
A name can change while the team stays the same
A squad may enter different events under slightly different names. NTR can connect approved aliases so its results stay on one team page. Clubs with several squads still keep separate rankings.
Similar names are not enough on their own. If it is not clear whether two entries are the same team, UKTC checks the evidence before the result can affect the rankings.
Updates and corrections
Spot something that does not look right?
Send us the team, event or result and explain what should change. A report never edits the rankings automatically. UKTC reviews it first, then publishes a new rankings update if a correction is approved. The rankings page shows the current update number and date.
